Hi everybody!
6 months have come and gone in a flash and so many wonderful things have happened! But I'll just cover this last week, haha!
On Tuesday, Elder Anderson and I celebrated our 6 month anniversary of being a missionary by going out to Casa Fiesta and getting the best $1 tacos in Rantoul!
On Wednesday, we were asked to come participate in the Young Men's activity where we played basketball and dodgeball. Needless to say, I did not succeed, haha! Oh well, at least I was an obstacle for em!
On Saturday, we went to Fisher, IL, where we got to tract through super redneck trailer parks where everybody is related to everybody! We literally had a man explain how a whole trailer park is somehow related to him, it was so funny! We also met a young man that we had talked to 3 weeks ago and he surprised us by having read half of the Book of Mormon since we last met him. We're so excited for him since he's so talented and ready to learn! We also went back to the farm where Elder Gallegos got the car stuck and gave the farmer a thank you gift of cookies! And the tracks from our car are still in the field, haha!
On Sunday, we started the Missionary Yard Service for the season, Haha! We spent two and a half hours cleaning up an older man's yard and when we had finished, we had a foot high pile stretching across his whole front yard, it was crazy. It was also really worth it because when we had first met him, he was a little grouchy and suspicious of us, but afterwards, we could feel how happy he was, he was grinning from ear to ear which really made our day and also our week! We had brightened his day and I couldn't be more happy for him!
We invited 4 people to baptism and they all accepted this past week! What's even more awesome is that it's two families! Not every member of their families have been taught and accepted the invite yet, but I know that the Lord will bless their lives so much for their choice to follow Him, and their families will be strengthened and blessed because of it as well! The work here in Rantoul has been so blessed lately and it is inspiring for the people we are teaching, for the members of the Branch, and for us as missionaries to see the Hand of the Lord touching so many lives out here. I am so grateful for all the blessings He rains down upon His children, you and I! It is so wonderful to watch and participate in!
I know this work is by divine design and that it is the right thing to do. I know that I am teachings truths that can literally change people's lives for the better. I know that this is Jesus Christ's Church and that His followers are flocking to it and finding the best joy imaginable in it. I love it so much!
Make sure to watch General Conference this coming weekend, where we will get to hear messages that will enrich our lives and help us with our most pressing needs. What an opportunity, to hear from men called of God to help us through the trials of today! Make sure ya don't miss it! Share it with your friends and acquaintances as well so they can be blessed!
I love you guys so much!
Love, Elder Wilson
