Hey ya'll!
Sorry for missing last week, we spent preparation day with the rest of the zone which took up our whole day. We played some volleyball and card games and it was good to interact with more people than usual.
This past week has been a great one for Elder Sommers and I, we've been working hard and ministering and we are starting to see some success in our area.
On Friday, our ward put together a Valentine's Dinner and we were put in charge of filling balloons with helium. Well, my companion had never tried helium before (neither have I actually) and so he tried some and it was pretty funny listening to him throw out some high-pitched one-liners.
Another funny story about my companion: so he didn't grow up with a dishwasher and doesn't know all the details about using one. We ran out of dishwasher detergent and so he decided to use the dish soap that was sitting on the counter.......... we spent quite a bit of time cleaning up the suds that spilled out, Haha! And it took two cycles to clean out all the soap! I had to laugh because my dad went through the same thing when he was younger and so it was funny actually experiencing it.
This week I am focusing on extending commitments to people. I've learned while I've been on my mission that simply teaching people about the Gospel isn't enough. To truly be converted requires action on every individual's part. Sometimes they run into the problem of not knowing what that action should be. With extending commitments, we are helping guide them on what they need to do to progress and gain a testimony. That is what I'll be working on this week and I invite you to do the same. Think of a good friend or family member or co-worker and extend them an invitation to come participate with us somehow. It can be very simple and don't feel down if they say no, one day they will say yes so ya just need to keep trying until they say yes.
Love you all!
Elder Wilson
