Hi ya'll!
This past week, we met a man named Michael who is an agnostic. (If you don't know what that is, don't worry, I didn't know until my mission anyways). He wasn't too interested in hearing our message but he let us in. As we continued to talk, he stopped us and asked a couple of questions about us missionaries. As we answered them, he became confused. He told us that we sounded like professional ministers, really well-spoken. This caused me to pause and think, because if any of you remember, I was not well-spoken in the least before my mission. I would often make up words and couldn't carry on a conversation but now a well-educated man was commenting on how well I was speaking. This went along very well with the Come, Follow Me lesson of last week in 1 Corinthians 12, where it talks about spiritual gifts that members of Christ's church receive. I know that a gift that I've been given is the gift to speak well with those that I am teaching and I know that it is the Lord's blessing and not my own skill. The Lord qualifies those whom He calls and it has been amazing to see that happen in others and I as we serve.
I would like to leave you with the song "A Child's Prayer" and invite you to think about what gifts you have been given already and then pray to ask the Lord how He would have you use those gifts to help others. I promise you that you will receive an answer by the end of this week and can have a wonderful experience helping somebody as you diligently seek the opportunity.
Love, Elder Wilson
