Hello everybody!
Transfers are tomorrow and I found out I will be staying in the Centralia region for the next little while.
With regards to the protests about George Floyd, it hasn't impacted us very much in rural Illinois. The most we've seen is a group of 20 protesters in Centralia itself one afternoon that were running up to cars at one intersection and waving banners that actually didn't mention George Floyd at all. Unfortunately, shootings in St. Louis has risen but I haven't heard much else about what is going on in my mission area.
Something else that is weird is our grocery stores are completely out of ground beef. None to be found in our area. So for the next little while, we're gonna be enjoying chicken I guess.
On a happy note, Illinois's shelter-in-place ended on Saturday, two days earlier than expected which was nice. We haven't been given the clear to meet with people in person yet but we started making plans to do so. Things are looking up!
Well, I gotta get back to my turtle watching so I'll catch ya next week!
Love, Elder Wilson
