Hi everybody!
This past week our nice weather streak ended and it's been below freezing for the past few days. I am making use of my heavy winter coat and thanking Heavenly Father each day that I have a car to drive, haha!
I got to experience freezing rain for the first time! For those of you who don't know what that is, it is when it is not cold enough for it to snow but it is cold enough for the rain to freeze when it hits the ground. So basically you get a sheet of ice on everything. It was so beautiful! But also pretty dangerous, haha!
I had an interesting service opportunity as well this week. A member got a new printer and needed it connected to his computer. The trouble is he still uses Windows XP............ and he hasn't had Internet since 2004. So it was an adventure trying to update it enough so that it could recognize the printer but we got it to work. It also brought back a lot of memories from my childhood when Windows XP was still being used, haha!
So fun fact, Salem, Illinois is where William Jennings Bryan was born. He is a very important person in American history and it was cool to just randomly find that out while in the library this past week! If you don't know who he is, go look him up and learn something new about our country's history.
I love being a missionary, I've been able to serve so many people and grow closer to Jesus Christ in the process. Go out and share the Gospel and you can experience this too! Doesn't have to be full time, but we all can be missionaries!
Love, Elder Wilson
