Hi everybody!
I hope you had a great week this past week! I hope you enjoyed Easter Sunday, in remembrance of the rising of our Savior! Elder Anderson and I actually gave talks yesterday for Sacrament meeting. Mine was on the trial, scourging, and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. An important thing to understand about all of this is captured in a quote by Neal A Maxwell, where he states that "There would have been no Atonement made without the Character of Christ". Elder Bednar goes on to point out that a crucial characteristic of Christ is that He always and without fail acts selflessly, doing so in the Garden of Gethsemane, during His trial and crucifixion, and finally it paid the price for Him to rise again and for all of us to do so with Him. How glorious is His character and His love for us! I love it so much!
I know I keep on mentioning it but I am so excited for Spring! This past week, leaves have started to grow abundantly on the trees, and the fields have miles and miles of purple flowers growing in them! It's like a purple carpet that stretches on forever and ever! Here in town, in the grass fields, there are hundreds of yellow faces popping against the vibrant green and it's just so beautiful! I posted some pictures of it down below, and you'll also get to see how flat Illinois is. I can see the next town over from the church building, which is about 8 miles away, haha.
This Saturday is Isaac's baptism! We're so excited for him and for the crucial step that he is about to take! It's gonna be awesome!
Hope you all have a great week and I'll catch you next time!
Love, Elder Wilson
