Hi everybody!
This past week has been super duper crazy and awesome! So we'll start with Wednesday which was my first zone conference! It was two hours south in a town called Cape Girardeau, so quite a long day traveling to and from that. But what was really special was the messages and trainings that were shared. President Bateman gave us this great piece of counsel. "Who loves us the most? Who expects the most out of us? They are one in the same." That stood out to me because yes, life can be hard, but that's because Heavenly Father knows we can do great things during hard trials.
Yesterday we had another stake conference, or rather we had a regional broadcast from Salt Lake. The Relief Society President spoke on the importance of ministering. A member of the Seventy spoke on family history and reiterated the specific blessings that were promised by prophets and apostles. A president in the Seventy spoke on keeping the Sabbath Day holy and the blessings that will come from that. And finally Elder Holland, my favorite apostle, talked about how crucial the Gathering of Israel, or in other words missionary work, is to prepping for the 2nd Coming and the building up of the Kingdom of God. This has been repeated so many times that it is impossible to ignore. This has become the focus of the church. What a great challenge to undertake!
I've sort've been experiencing a foreign mission, haha. Lately, I've had the amazing opportunity to teach a young lady from Thailand named Kae, and a family from Uganda. Both speak limited English so it's been great to try and simplify the Gospel for them. While doing this, I realized that the Gospel is best taught in its simplest form. God meant His message to be plain because it's so plainly wonderful! I've loved teaching them!
I think my favorite opportunity I've had so far is to go to an intensive care nursing home yesterday to visit a member that recently had both legs amputated. While I was there, I got to meet some of the coolest and most humble people there! Many of them were firm believers in Christ and had such great hope and joy through Him in spite of the major afflictions they were going through. I wanna go teach there the most because I know the people there would appreciate the message the most. I know that through Christ, they can literally be made whole again and won't have to suffer. What a blessing! What peace! What joy!

Last awesome experience! So this morning we got to move a Statue of Moroni!!!!!!!! The Angel Moroni on top of the St. Louis temple got struck by lightning so his whole arm was blackened. Ironically, this was actually the replacement statue that got struck. The original one was taken down three years ago and placed in a temple worker's basement because it was in such a poor state. However, they're gonna restore it and replace it back instead of the new blackened one. So we had to load up the statue and take it to the temple's workshop. The trouble is we could only get the statue out of the basement by removing a window and squeezing it through, haha. It was so much fun! Best P-day yet! There was about twenty to thirty elders needed to carry it. There's pictures at the bottom.
Hope all is going well back home! Love you all!
Love, Elder Wilson
