Hello everybody!
It is my last week in the MTC, I leave for Missouri on Thursday. Time has truly flown yet stood still here. It seems to have been like a dream here, it just doesn't seem real at times. It feels like we've been here a year yet it passed in an instant. I don't know how to describe it. I guess you'll just have to experience it for yourself and go on missions *cough, cough, hint, hint*. To be honest, the MTC was really fun and not very hard. I'm nervous for when I reach Missouri and will be working hard all day, everyday. I don't dread it, but it does seem quite daunting. A challenge I hope to fulfill to the upmost.
I honestly don't remember much that happened this week, except for one great experience. So something we do here at the MTC is we practice teaching people who are interested in the Gospel. To do that, people volunteer to be taught so we can gain experience. Sometimes it's members that role-play but sometimes it's actual investigators who really do want to learn more about the Gospel. My companion and I had a volunteer not show up on Saturday, same with another companionship, Elder Liufau and Elder Zinn. And we were one of the few people on the floor since it was a Saturday morning. So for a while we just did some studying as we waited for class to resume. At one point, Elder Zinn and I went to get a drink and on our way back, we noticed that in one of the teaching rooms was a woman who's missionaries had not shown up. We felt prompted to talk to her, so we grabbed Elder Liufau and Elder Giles and we all went to go talk to her. Heavenly Father must've been watching over us because this lady happened to be in the only teaching room that was set up for four elders, which is never suppose to happen. We got to know her and gave her a short lesson. Even though she was a member just role-playing, the Spirit was still so strong in that room as four elders testified about the truthfulness of this Gospel. It touched her and it touched us.
"You don't have to wonder about what is true. You do not have to wonder whom you can safely trust. Through personal revelation, you can receive your own witness that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, that Joseph Smith is a prophet, and that this is the Lord's Church. Regardless of what others may say or do, no one can ever take away a witness borne to your heart and mind about what is true." -President Nelson. For all of you who do not believe in this Gospel, I would encourage you to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. If it is false, then all you would've done is lose some time reading a book. But if it be true, and I promise you from the very depth of my soul that it is, then you will find blessings beyond measure, eternal blessings, a constant companion during the hard trials of your life, peace, love, happiness. All of these I guarantee the Book of Mormon can do if you simply give it the chance. I add my testimony to the millions of people that have come before me, that the Book of Mormon is true. I know it and I know that God knows it and I cannot deny it. This is God's Church, please follow Him and be blessed because of it.
Love, Elder Wilson
